If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It

If you can dream it, you can do it.

Why did Walt Disney say, “If you can dream it, you can DO it” – instead of you can HAVE it? Could it be because your dreams are ultimately not about having something, they’re about doing something and sharing it with the world.

One important thing to know is that your dreams and your goals are not somewhere “out there” – they’re inside of you. They’re already there. Look at your passions, your talents, and your natural gifts. What do you love to do, right from the bottom of your heart? What are you good at? And how can it benefit the people around you?

Your dreams are about what you can do for the world with your passions and talents. It’s doing, not looking. For instance, someone who liked to make quilts started connecting to others who liked to do the same thing and together they started a movement that provided security blankets for thousands of sick kids in hospitals. So… what are you good at? What do you love to do? Or what have you never had time for that you might like to explore now?

Life tends to lead you in the right direction. Through the events, and people in your life, even the stumbling blocks, the Universe is providing you with a road map to your dreams.  Listen and pay attention.  Then take action. Do just one little thing that feels right. Let your inner dreamer connect with your inner producer. As Dr. Martin Luther King said, “Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” And know that with each step taken, the next becomes apparent.

Don’t think about it too much. Dreams and goals are something that come from the heart, not the mind.
